DOG 1 - FEMORAL HEAD OSTEOTOMY
Rescue dog who received a fractured pelvis at 10 weeks, requiring FHO repair by Vet at 9mths and then suffered an infection on the same leg which took months to heal. This dog is now 2yrs old. She always limps, rarely smiles, and doesn't play much. July - hip stretches, strengthening, and weight transference training, she now puts weight on that leg in gait, has started smiling more, and will lean on that rear leg. November - this dog has started to play with toys and bones and other dogs for the first time. Her owner is very happy. |

DOG 2 - HIP DYSPLASIA
At 6 months of age this Labrador was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia. Right leg was operated on in July 2015 and Left leg was operated on in April 2016. My first session was on 3/9/16, we had 7 treatments over 2 months. This dog went from pain and severe lameness after 5 minutes of walking, to now being able to tolerate 40 minutes of walking a day with no pain or limping. The owners did all the hard work and did her rehab with her every day for those 2 months. She now has maintenance program.

DOG 3 - SUBLUXING PATELLA
Experienced a skipping and hopping walk with her back right leg and then eventually regular limping. She went to the vet who diagnosed her with grade 1 medial patella luxation - dislocating knee cap! With strengthening exercises this dog stopped limping and hopping and skipping and returned to a normal walking pattern. this Video shows the dog doing its end stage rehab - 'ladders' for strengthening the quadriceps muscles. Well done to the owners for having the patience to teach her a new trick (rehab exercise). |
