physio for dogs & cats
Change of Management & Location
Loren Borrelli will be treating animals from September!
Sessions are $50. Initial consults are 45mins, follow up consults are 30mins.
(Please do not ask me to me to treat 2 small dogs in one session, size does not equal time for assessment.).
I am unable to take work experience students. To become an Animal Physio, ring the Aust. Physio Assoc WA office & speak to the Animal Rep.
What to Expect - your first session
We are trained to assess your pets anatomy (joints, muscles, nerves, fascia, etc), normal movement patterns, gait, and behaviour to give clues to pain. We will then put our hands on your pet and apply hands on physio techniques to correct dysfunction, soothe the animal, and create play for rehab (to encourage correct movement and increase strength).
You will be required to do homework with your pet, please be prepared to remember exercises and show effort when sticking to your pets treatment plan!
It makes the treatment a lot easier if you can train your animal to lie on their side!.....
Referrals for Physio
Animal Physio works best in conjunction with your Vet treatment. Your animal will get faster results using us both, team work is the best. Often we send them a quick update or letter to assist in your pets care.
Pet Insurance Claims -
- You must use the insurance companies claim form.
- Have your vet sign it, and this is the referral form.
- The Physio (me) then has to sign the form as well.
- A referral from your Vet on the Vets letterhead is not accepted by the insurance companies.
Pet Plan, Guide Dogs Pet Insurance and Allianz use Petplan - up to $2000/year. BUPA, Bow Wow Meow and Real Insurance - top plans cover physio under 'alternative treatments', but only up to $50 a year.
